Change in Dutch law means victims of human trafficking receive full compensation

A new change in the law in the Netherlands means that victims of human trafficking will no longer have their compensation reduced if they are on social welfare. Up until recently, recipients on social welfare who were eligible for compensation from the Dutch Violent Crimes Compensation Fund were only receiving a fraction of the compensation payment.

La Strada International sees this as a good development as everyone who is the victim of human trafficking is entitled to compensation as laid down in EU law.
